July 2 Finished Objects

  • July 2, 2009 9:08 pm

Thursday Night in Knots was as always fun.  I (Dani) had to put my complicated Shawl down because I was too distracted with the fun.  I always make sure to bring a no brainer as well so that I don’t have to rip back all that I knit while there.  We had lots of beautiful finished objects as well.  There is no particular order to these, just what order they got uploaded.

An oldie, but goodie.

An oldie, but goodie.

Yes, I know that these are old but Misti had them on her camera and I still think that are worth it.  These are some of the 23? socks that Misti knit last Christmas for every one in her family.

Girly Sock Monkey Hat

Girly sock monkey hat by Dani.  You can find the pattern here.

Tigger Socks

Tigger Socks

Tina B’s Tigger Socks.  A request from her daughter.  Tina was going to weave in the ends and her daughter said leave them and put a poof on the end.  Snazzy little socks for a snazzy little girl.

Uncursed Yarn Shawl

Uncursed Yarn Shawl

Tina E’s Uncursed Yarn Shawl.  This poor yarn got frogged many times and never wanted to become anything.  Finally after an over dye job, it has become a beautiful shawl.  The moral of this story is that if you have truely cursed yarn, over dye it.   Sorry, no pattern yet, Tina is thinking about doing another one and writing out the pattern.  When and if she does this we will let you know where it will be available.

Misti's Purple Passion

Misti's Purple Passion

Here is Misti’s beautiful purple shawl.  The pattern can be found in A Gathering of Lace by Meg Swansen.  It is the Rippling Rainbow.  Didn’t it turn out georgeous?!

Midnight Shadow's Wool dyed by Dani

Midnight Shadow's Wool dyed by Dani

Dani’s hand dyed yarn.  The yarn is Jo Knowlton’s of Notlwonk Spring’s in Corrnish.  This was some of Spinderella’s first yarn.

Barbara's Plush Shawl

Barbara's Plush Shawl

Barbra knitted up this lush shawl.  Barbara is one of our summer citizens and we love that she has come to join us for the summer.

Tina's Blanket

Tina's Blanket

This is Tina H’s Blanket.  I can’t remember the book it is from.  Give me a shout out so I can add it.  That bump in the middle is Fleur.  A little scottie dog.  She didn’t look like she wanted to move so we just threw the blanket over her.  She held nice and still during the picture.

People were lost once again, but they were found in the end.

After the Gem fair, everyone was starving so there was much wandering around until a restaurant could be agreed on.  Finally Ramano’s Macaroni Grill was chosen.  As usual with our group, we had outrageous fun.  Just check out the waiter!  Honestly the waiter was the highlight of the evening.

Please remember the sale begins at 10 AM and ends at 5 PM tomorrow. We won’t be doing the sale through Thursday Night in Knots. I’m back but still behind.

  • June 23, 2009 4:16 pm

I’ve arrived back in the valley and am trying to catch up. Our Thursday night knitters will be asked to catch everyone up on the blog. I am finding my list is growing, and my time available to accomplish the task is shrinking.

Thursday at SummerFest

  • June 19, 2009 8:44 am

Thursday we were beginning our knitting (also known as talking) and it was decided we should go to SummerFest. We knew Tina E was scheduled to work at the pregnancy center. (Tina, tell me the name of the place you have working.) Anyway, we went to SummerFest, found some food and had dinner. We met Kathy from Ben Lomand and had great banter about cleaning our plates and manicotti. It is now going to be arranged that Miste will be showing us how to make manicotti from scratch. Rita, we won’t arrange the manicotti until you get back!

We had a great time at SummerFest. We didn’t actually find Tina E, but we did try! After dinner, we all got cotton candy. Then we walked through all the booths. There were lots of glass vendors this year. There were also jewelry vendors with lots of different pieces. A nice time was had by all the TNIK group.
